Amy :::

This was one of my summer projects this year....a queen size patchwork quilt for an auction coming up this fall.  I worked on this for about 7 hours total and was able to finish it in one weekend....one of my record-breaker quilts!
What projects have you done this summer?

Psalm 100:1-3
"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."

Esther Ruth.......

My grandfather taught me how to trim grass!  I have always thought "Oh it should be really easy" believe me, it's not that easy! :) It may have not been easy but I am super blessed to have a grandpa who teaches me new things! I really enjoyed learning something new!

 Homemade Ratatouille.... super yummy!

Andy's GoPro captured my sparkler fun at July 4th!  Super awesome!
We visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado. This is the gorgeous chapel. The stained glass brings in purple looking light...... soooooo breathtaking!

These are just a few of my summer highlight!  Looking forward to starting up again this fall!

Summer Time=Busy

Hello all you blog readers!
Sorry we've been away for a while... we've all been having a busy summer I think ;) So, this is what I've been doing these past couple months...

My dad and I went to a gun class at Front Sight with some friends. We had a great time and I really learned how to handle my gun better.
I'm a great shooter!!
Our group

Just hanging out

I also started my own blog to post pictures of the cards I make. I would love it if you would check it out!
Here's some of the cards I have posted lately:

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

I also got to plan our church's 4th of July party with some of my other friends. That was really fun.

The girls who made it happen

The party!
I also competed in my first fiddle contest and won 1st place in my division! (ha there was only the two of us though so...)

Waiting for our turn

Playing!!

I won!

This past week we went on a camping trip with some of our friends and had a blast!
Doing a scavenger hunt

Us with friends

Jump rope!

And on August 10th we had our church's one year anniversary! The Lord has really blessed us and our church by bringing good families into it. I'm so excited for what God has in store for us moving forward!

Our whole church family but one or two families.

This past week one of my friends wanted someone to do a guest post so I volunteered! I just wanted to share the post I did and also mention her blog and ask you all to go take a look!

My post:

Mother's Need Help!
You've seen it before. A mom in the grocery store with four toddlers. Most of the time she doesn't get very many groceries.
Why? Most mom's with small children don't like to go shopping with their little ones. Mom's need help. It's just a plain fact.
Last year I started to be a mother's helper. You know, someone who spends the day with a family and just helps however she can. Doing laundry. Watching the kids. Making lunch. These are some of the things I did. And lots of the time it wasn't easy.
Being a mother's helper also allowed me to develop good relationships with mom's that I wouldn't have if I hadn't first been their mother's helper. Be prepared to have good conversations. I'm not very outgoing around adults but once I got to know these ladies I was a lot more comfortable around them and I was also more open to talking and sharing. This put me in a great position to receive biblical mentoring which is what the Bible talks about in Titus 2:

"That they (the aged women) may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2: 4-5

Being a mother's helper is a great way to watch older women (well, older than us) in the home. It gives us as young ladies a good example to follow.

I have to say, there are a lot of things you can learn from being a mother's helper. Here's just a few:
1. You get to see how other families run their household.
2. You get to interact with younger kids who aren't your siblings.
3. You get to learn to serve in another household.
4. You learn how to ask questions.
And that's not including how much you will bless the mom you help! So let's look at these close up.

You get to see how other families run their household.
How do they fold their clothes? What cleaning products do they use? When do they normally eat lunch? All of these questions will be answered when you step into their home and start to get your hands dirty.

You get to interact with young kids.

We tend to be a little short with our siblings, you know? But when we're with other kids who aren't our siblings we tend to have a lot more grace. Young children look up to older friends so it would mean the world to them if you just took a minute to spend some time with them.

"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them." Matthew 18: 2

You learn to serve.
In my house I may just do something that needs to be done, but in someone else's house I'll be more reluctant. Most mother's aren't going to give you a list at the front door to tell you everything you could do. Some mom's will ask you while others will just expect you to play with the kids, but part of blessing mom's is doing the things they won't have time for in their busy schedule or maybe even giving them time to run an errand by themselves or take a nap.

"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Mark 10: 39

You Learn to ask Questions
This is a big one. I'm a very shy girl and sometimes I'll hesitate to ask about something. But, again, part of blessing someone else is doing the job right so they don't have to do it over later. So ask questions. Mom's won't get offended by simple questions.

You probably know a young mother with a couple toddlers that could use some help. Offer to spend the day (free of charge) just helping her with whatever she needs. It might not be easy but it's worth it.

My friend is planning on posting this on August 18 so I'm really excited!

As this is getting to be a VERY long post I think you all get the point that we've had lots happen this summer! Anything fun you all have been doing this summer?
I hope to see you all again next month!

Esther Ruth........

Hello All! My brother Andy took me to his Senior banquet in January!  It was a mystery dinner in which everyone had a special part to play! It was a mock wedding and I played the brides grandmother and Andy was my son the brides uncle! (neither of us were the killer by the way! :)  It was a fun filled evening lots of laughing and trying to figure out who did it! Thanks Andy for taking me as your guest!

New things going on around here........

Hello Blog readers!

Thanks for being patience with me! Lots of new things going on in my life! First of all we are saying goodbye to Hanna and Tricia today!  I really enjoying having you both be a part of this blog! Love to you both!

Second we are welcoming Ashley to our team! We are excited for the blog to start up again! Please check back every week for a new post from the girl of the week! I pray this blog will be an encouragement for many! Here again is our missions statement if you have not read about the purpose of this blog:

Five Perspectives Blog
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Five Perspectives blog
is to encourage each other by sharing about our daily lives through pictures
and sharing Scripture verses that are impacting our lives to the Glory of Jesus Christ!
I Thessalonians 5:11 says,
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
Colossians 2:1-3 says,
“For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea
and for all who have not seen me face to face,
that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love,
to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery,
which is Christ,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Philippians 2:1-2 says,
“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love,
any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy,
complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love,
being in full accord and of one mind.”

::Autumn Breeze::

Hey Y'all!

I'm really lovin' this weather! -Which is rather surprising for me... I usually am 100% summer weather! I guess just the absolutely gorgeous colors of autumn make up for the chilly weather!

I am so thankful that The Lord made the leaves die slowly so we could enjoy the bright, vibrant colors!

On a brisk, Sunday morning, my friend and I did a fun Fall shoot before church! It was lovely! (And VERY cold!)

God bless!
 Kallie
