Elaine-Hairstyles!

My favorite way to do hair is using a Lilla Rose flexi clip. There are so many different styles and sizes of clips and so many ways you can do your hair. For example, my favorite way is the simple ponytail. It's quick, easy, comfy and it looks pretty too! The rod slides back and forth on the right side of the clip so that the other side opens and closes. I also like to put my hair up halfway with smaller sizes.

And yes, I'm late...again. I know I haven't been posting much lately and I want to let you girls know why. I haven't really had a camera to take pictures with for awhile and I had a really hard time finding pictures from what I already had. I got to the point where I almost said I couldn't blog anymore, but I kept putting it off because I wanted to do it so badly! I got a new camera recently and now I can take pictures of my own. I'm really excited to post more now:) I'm going to do this week's and last week's post today...

Elaine~Week 18

It is funny that we all have done acting for our pictures! My sisters and I are on the American Girl Drama Team. We do american girl stories when we are younger, but as we get older the productions become more challenging, such as "Little Women" and "Lost and Foundling".

These are our dresses from a few Colonial and Prairie performances. (The first picture doesn't really look like me, but oh well.) I have been reminded lately how special my sisters are, and how it should be considered precious to have siblings to share life with.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "Two are better than one because they have a better return for their labor. If either falls down, the other is there to catch them. Pity anyone who falls and has no one there for them to help them up again. Also, when two lie down beside each other, they keep warm and how can one be warm by themselves? Elaine - Week 15 - Niagara Falls!

Niagara Falls! How amazing. You stand there beside the falls hearing the roar of the water and thinking of the power of the water. Wow. My words are inadequate to describe it, and my pictures are too :)

Elaine-Week 10

Elaine-week 9

I was pretty much out of ideas for this post, so I decided to do something pretty funny! Esther and one of our other friends, Sarah, came to our house to surprise me for my birthday this year! We had a lot of fun and took some pretty silly pictures. They were supposed to look like senior pictures...but that didn't really work well :)

This was in the second story window of our barn. :)

Elaine-week 8!

Earlier in the summer, we went to visit some friends in Tennessee. They help run a Christian camp there and it is the neatest place! Above is a little waterfall that they have in their backyard. It is so beautiful!! Wouldn't it be fun to have a waterfall in your backyard!? :)

In this picture, my brother and I were having a wonderful time canoeing in the coolest place ever with near perfect weather! Until....

Splash!! It is a good thing we were close to shore! :) And it was really nice to get wet on a hot day. Ha!

Elaine-Week 5

Like Esther said in her last post, my brother and I were able to travel to Nebraska with her family for the 4th of July. It was a wonderful trip and we all had a great time! In this picture: (L-R) Esther's Grandma Bev, Esther, Me and her cousin Cassie.

Now unfortunately, this wasn't taken on our trip, but I love patriotic flowers! I think it is pretty cool how many colors flowers can be, even though they aren't always natural colors...:)

This last picture was taken on our trip. My brother and Esther's brothers had so much fun being able to light off fireworks with each other! This was one of their biggest shots--my camera couldn't capture it all.

I am so thankful that I am blessed with several encouraging friends like Esther. This Bible verse doesn't have much to do with the fourth of July, but spending this holiday with Esther and her family made me truly realize how fortunate I am to have encouraging friends.

Psalm 119:36 "Those who fear the Lord are my good friends."

Elaine-Week 4

This year, we have a huge garden! There are four plots around the yard with different fruits and vegetables. This picture is just one-third of the gardens and it has mostly zucchini, yellow squash and tomatoes.

Today, mom went and picked this week's crop of zucchini and squash. We got a whole bunch of them, so I am excited to eat some fresh veggies for dinner. I also used picnik for the first time with this picture and it was so cool! Thank-you to Patricia for telling us about it :) I love trying new things with the water mark.

Elaine-Week 3

Near our house is a large botanical garden called Powell Gardens. Last week, we were able to take a trip there with some friends of ours. The flowers there are just beautiful! :)

Elaine, Week 1

My family has been blessed with a varitey of flowers, each having its own unique color, shape and size. Among the many choices, my favorites have to be the purple and white Petunias. They mean more to me than just any ordinary flower would because they remind me of something very important. That something is a heart rescued from sin by God's grace. Now obviously, I don't mean its shape or its size looks like a heart, but to me the color represents salvation. All humans begin as sinners with dark hearts, but by making the decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian heart becomes a lovely and pure white. Then their faith will truly blossom.

I would like to challenge each person who reads this, definitely including myself, to think about two questions;

1. Has your heart become the lovely, pure white that the Lord wants it to be?


2. Is your walk with God really, truly and genuinely blossoming?

I chose a rather large passage for today's post. Of course, each of the thirteen verses are significant in their own way, but the three I have in bold stand out the most to me.

Hebrews 3:7-19--A Warning against Unbelief

7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today if you hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as you did in the time of the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, 9where your fathers, who tested and tried me for forty years, saw what I did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said 'Their hearts are always going astray and they do not know my ways.' 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" 12 See to it my brothers, that not one of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that will turn away from the true God. 13 Encourage one another daily, as long as it can be called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's decietfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly until the end the confidence we had in the beginning. 15 As has just been said "Do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion." 16 Who were those that heard, yet rebelled? Were they not those whome Moses led out of Egypt? 17 With whom was he angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? 18 And to whom did God swear that those who disobeyed would never enter his rest? 19 So see: They Could not enter because of their unbelief.
