Amy

Sewing is one of my favorite things.  I had the opportunity to sew a lot over the summer and I made several aprons.  This apron pattern is from a very sweet online store called Marie-Madeline (http://www.mariemadelinestudio.com/).  They sell all sorts of cute dresses, aprons, purses, fabrics, & patterns too.  I love the look of these aprons and they make wonderful gifts.  I also like to make coordinating hot pads and table runners.  I am so thankful for all the dear ladies who have invested in me and taught me so many different handcrafting skills, including sewing.

Patricia :: {lizards} two-thousand and twelve

Good morning people,
I took this picture in Florida. Which you probably guessed considering Lizards are plentiful there. Seeing one always reminds me of my childhood growing up in the Sunshine State: swimming, catching lizards and snakes, going to the beach, and being little.
It was the happiest time, just being ME as a shy-blue-eyed-bleach-blonde-kid-with-a-pixie-cut.
But times change and we have to learn and grow as God teaches us new things. It's all part of life...and you know what? I wouldn't change it even if I could.

My Summer 2012- Week 1

This summer my family and I traveled to California for our family vacation.
We went to Disney Land and it was my little Bro's first time on an airplane and his first time to go to Disney Land. He was pretty excited ;) We also went to the beach, but in 70 degree weather with wind we naturally didn't want to put swimsuits on. So as you can see in the picture below, we went in with sweatshirts and jeans. Bre and I told my mom we were only going to go up to our knees, but that didn't happen! We went all the way up to our necks and let me tell you... it was a pain trying to get sand out of my sweatshirt pockets the next day :)

Bre and I doing the dramatic 'smolder' look

On our way to Disney Land!

Half the day into Disney Land, I saw this roller coaster. It's in the back of me. It was the best roller coaster. Despite the fact that we waited 2 hours in line to ride it.

The best pie ever! Julian's Pie company. They have apple pie with cinnamon sugar ice cream. Yup. I went home and did Jillian Michaels after that one ;)

Up in the "mountains" in California we walked around an old fashioned town called Julian. In this town there was a candy shop and Bryan and Emma got pop rocks. Their faces were hilarious!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
XOXO- Hanna

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." ~Matthew 5:13-16

Tricia's Summer 2012 Summary :)

Hello there! I am SO excited to be blogging here at Five Perspectives this semester! I am new to the whole blogging thing, but am excited for this new adventure!

This summer was full of sweet, beautiful moments. Moments that I will cherish forever. Moments that God was giving me, to prepare me for the most drastic adjustment in my life ever (thus far): becoming an only child after my two older sisters left for college. Pictures are so great because they give us a chance to capture those precious moments. Here are some snapshots from this summer!

My sister, Laina, graduated from high school!
So proud of her! :) [L-R: Melika, Laina, Me]
We had some of our dear friends visit.
We went to the NCFCA (National Christian Forensics and Communication Association) National Championship, in MN. Saw dear, old, friends. Made new ones. And learned much. :)
On the way home from MN, we drove through WI to visit friends. And of course I soaked up every second of my beautiful, Wisconsin, homeland scenery... Ah, grazing holsteins...
Rolling hills-drenched in green, under a baby blue sky. On days like this you feel like you're walking in a painting that was beautifully illustrated by The Creator. The warm sun. The gentle breeze. It's like He's whispering "I love you" with every breeze.
In June we did lots of "artsy" things, like going to museums, and seeing a bunch of theatrical productions. Fun by me! :)
We wrapped up the summer with relaxing sister time at home.... I am so blessed to have these two wonderful girls as my sisters. We are 3 peas in a pod. 3 musketeers. 3 strands of rope.
4th of July [L-R: Laina, Melika, Me]
We attended a wedding in Virginia in August. It was a beautiful ceremony. It was externally beautiful as well, but the main beauty I speak of is that of their hearts. It was the most Christ-centered, God-glorifying wedding ever, and it was absolutely beautiful. Inspiring.

[L-R: Tricia (me), Melika, Laina]
....and then we said good-bye. Laina went off to college, and Melika back to her college. God has blessed me so much in this new transition, through so many different tender mercies. He teaches me new things daily, as He sustains me with His grace, hope, and love. I am excited to keep on in Him on this new journey! Praise Him.

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." ~Ephesians 5:1-2
Happy Thursday!

Esther: Summer 2012

I had a awesome summer!  It was full of fun trips to see good friends and family!  I had the privilege this summer to be one of my cousins bridesmaid!  It has always been one of my dreams to be in a wedding! It was such a special time!

Here are some of the pictures:

This one was taken right before we went outside to walk down the aisle!

This is my siblings and I before the wedding! L-R: Andy, Me, Billy, Amy and Katie.

Here is the bride with all the bridesmaids! L-R: Precious (sister of bride), Mariah (sister-in-law), myself (cousin of brides), Erin (THE BRIDE!), Mycah (sister of bride), Bailey (sister of bride), and the flower girl (cousin of bride).

The wedding day reminded me of this verse:
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." Philippians 4:4

Amy :: Summer Theme

My family took a trip to Colorado this past August.  We had a wonderful time doing many things...one of which was staying at a relative's condo for 4 days.  My grandparents joined us too, which was a great addition!  I loved being in the mountains and enjoyed taking walks with my siblings.  The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family and I am so thankful for each of them :)

"I lift up my eyes to the hills.  From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."  Psalm 121:1-2

Patricia :: Summer Theme

Well, my Summer was amazing. (to say the least)
The happiness began way back in July when (after two years of saving) I purchased a beautiful Canon Rebel camera.  I seriously love it SO much! So all the photos you see from me will be taken with it....unless I up-load on the go from the iphone.
Anyways, after I had my camera it just made everything more fun: the late night Volleyball and Frisbee games, the mountain hikes, the cousins and grandparents visits, shopping with my friends, and the random get-together's with awesome people.
But the MOST fun I've had with it was when my twin Mary, and my brother Robert and I went to Florida. We were there for 3 whole weeks, and it was just p.e.r.f.e.c.t.i.o.n.
My whole family loves it there, after all it's where we grew up, so going back to visit our relatives is always a treat. And every time the highlight is the beach! Ooohh. There is NEVER going to be a place I love more! When I'm older I'm going to buy a lil' beach house and live there, right where I can hear the ocean. :*)
So the picture below I  took from underneath a pier at the beach.
We stayed overnight in condo, and I even got to do a sunrise portrait shoot of Mary the next morning! It was beautiful. You'll probably be seeing some of those photos later because I like them lots.
Well, I think that's my Summer....I feel really sad when I think about how it's over. The days are cold already here in Colorado. But at least I know my favorite season will come back next year. :*)
Love you all!

Theme this week is......

An activity that happened in our lives this summer!

Here we come......

Hello, this is Esther!

I started this blog last year.  I have been learning that in everything we do as Christians, we must have a purpose.  So, I started thinking about what this blog's purpose is.  My Dad has given workshops on how to make a Family Mission Statement, and I thought this blog needed a Mission Statement!

So, without further ado, here is Five Perspectives Mission Statement:

Five Perspectives Blog
Mission Statement

The purpose of the Five Perspectives blog
is to encourage each other by sharing about our daily lives through pictures
and sharing Scripture verses that are impacting our lives to the Glory of Jesus Christ!

I Thessalonians 5:11 says,
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

Colossians 2:1-3 says,
“For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea
and for all who have not seen me face to face,
that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love,
to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery,
which is Christ,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Philippians 2:1-2 says,
“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love,
any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy,
complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love,
being in full accord and of one mind.”

We are excited about what the coming year will hold for Five Perspectives as we pursue that purpose.

We are officially starting again next Monday!  We have a few newbies around here, so here is the new order of things!

Monday: Patricia

Tuesday: Amy

Wednesday: ME! (Esther Ruth)

Thursday: Tricia

Friday: Hanna

Thanks for joining us again this year!  Hope you are encouraged through reading this!  Posting will start this week...looking forward to a fun year!
