Amy.......

The Lord is so kind to give us beautiful plants this spring.
These irises were a gift from a neighbor and they have many gorgeous blooms this year.
We are enjoying them!

Psalm 74:16-17

"Yours is the day, yours also the night;
you have established the heavenly lights and the sun.
You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth;
you have made summer and winter."

One of Esther's favorite blog and a testimony.......

One of my favorite blogs is Six angles! I originally started Five Perspectives because Six angles gave me the idea, so therefore it has a special place in my heart! :)

Testimony:

I was working at the registration table during our homeschool conference and up walks this young couple to register, I noticed right away how joyful they were in every aspect!  They saw from my name tag that my name was Esther and they said that they had named their daughter Esther also.  They continued to tell me how the Lord showed them to name their daughter Esther.  I was really blessed by their conversation and right before they left, they asked me how could they pray for me.....!!! Here I was wrapped up in the all the activity of our homeschool conference, but this couple took their time to stop and pray for me!  I was extremely blessed by them!  It really reminded me to not get so focused on different things, because it made me forget who I am wanting to serve in the first place!  Jesus, may I be bringing glory to your name!  Thank you, sweet young couple for being SUCH an awesome example to me!!!!!  May God bless you!

Amy

A personal testimony of something the Lord has been teaching me:

As a young lady, I often think that I need to make sure to build my life well.  As I have been reading through
the Psalms lately, I came upon this verse:

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."  Psalm 127:1

My life is like a house that I am building little by little each day, and the final product of my life will last for eternity.  This verse shows that unless the Lord is doing the work, it is all in vain.  This encourages me to ask the Lord to be building my life in the fashion that He wants it and not try to micro-manage every detail in my own power.  I am reminded of this hymn, "On Christ, the Solid Rock, I Stand", because Jesus Christ is my stability and the only sure thing that I can put my trust and hope in.  He already knows every detail of my life and He will be with me through all things....Praise the Lord!

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

This weeks theme is........

A testimony from each of us!

God is Sovereign all the time!

Life. Life was seemingly going by peacefully. There wasn't anything going wrong! You could say life was a breeze.

Until late September, 2012

It was I think Wednesday when my Dad came home with stitches down his hand. He had cut it really bad at a fire that night. (He is a firefighter). So he was off work for 3-4 weeks.

The next day, Tyler got his wisdom teeth taken out so he was also 'down' for awhile.

A couple days later, early in the morning we received a horrifying call. My grandma was having a sever asthma attack and used what was left of all her energy to call my Dad. I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing at such an unusual hour Sunday morning. My Dads conversation went something like this:
“Whats wrong?” *Silence... * “Do you need to go to the hospital?” *silence... * “You think so?” *Silence... * “OK, I'll be there really soon. Love you”.

Dad left the house in a hurry. Of course my Mom and I are very worried. I sat on her bed practically shaking. We had no idea to what had just happened. This was the beginning of a very difficult month. Where things would seem to crumble one after the other after the other.

It was awhile before we got an update but when we did we found out that when Dad had got there and he saw his Mom in the worst state he had ever seen her. He called an ambulance. They got to the hospital safely, and they had almost immediately put a breathing tube in my grandma.

The severity of her condition was obvious now to my whole family.

God used my Dads hand condition to provide a way for him to be with my grandma all day everyday.
He is Sovereign to provide what we need, in ways we don't expect!

While she was in the hospital, she took many ups and downs. Turns for better, turns for worse.

It was Wednesday when my brother Seth too ended up at the Urgent Care. He closed a knife on his fingers and needed stitches.
So, Dad has stitches in his hand, Tyler has stitches in his mouth and Seth has stitches on his finger. On top of all that, Grandma is still in the hospital.

By Friday my grandma was still in the hospital, but by Gods grace, she was doing MUCH better. Gods Sovereign Hand was the explanation of her healing. Though she still had a ways to go, we knew she would get to go home in a few day! Praise the Lord!

That same Friday, we received more heartbreaking news.
Rachel, a close friends of ours, passed away along with her unborn daughter Selah Crosby.
It was ever so shocking. I couldn't stop crying. God was the One who gave us peace.

Though in significant, our basement flooded Sunday. See what I mean by everything seemed to be crumbling???

During this God had a very special plan. That plan was to draw us closer to Him!
You see, I've realized that when life goes by easily, we tend to rely on our own strength. We aren't constantly relying on Gods strength and power to get us through.

In the end, Grandma is back to normal, God gave us peace about Rachel and we know we will see her again one day, Dad and Seth's hands are fine, and our basement has been fixed. (And Tyler healed quickly from loosing some wisdom...haha!)

God is Sovereign to supply every need. No matter if it is as simple as a cut finger, or as severe as the life of a loved-one. His will IS best!

May Jesus' love abound in your life today,
