Water...

~ Job 36:24-25 ~
Remember that thou magnify his work,
which men behold. Every man may see it;
man may behold it afar off.

Elaine-week 8!

Earlier in the summer, we went to visit some friends in Tennessee. They help run a Christian camp there and it is the neatest place! Above is a little waterfall that they have in their backyard. It is so beautiful!! Wouldn't it be fun to have a waterfall in your backyard!? :)

In this picture, my brother and I were having a wonderful time canoeing in the coolest place ever with near perfect weather! Until....

Splash!! It is a good thing we were close to shore! :) And it was really nice to get wet on a hot day. Ha!

Psalm 42:1 "Just as a deer thirsts for streams of water, my heart thirsts for you, my God. My soul pants for you, my Lord."

Esther ~Week 8~

Water is an amazing creation that God designed!  People will see water almost everywhere on earth: when you are eating out at a restaurant, people watering their grass, in Africa giving water to their animals, in Europe's amazing Fountains, down in Antarctica where you'll see ice everywhere!  Water is used everyday in so many ways!  God in His Magnificence made this amazing liquid that he knew that we would use everyday and yet we forget about how wonderful  water really is!

"But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”     John 4:14

The other day my little brother Pete had
a tarp full of water on the trampoline.

He was having all kinds of fun:)

~ Isaiah 58:11 ~

And the LORD shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make
fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered
garden, and like a spring of water,
whose water fail not.

Esther ~Week 7~

Proverbs 27:17

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

Last week my cousin Precious came and spent a few days at our house. We had such a blast together!

We went to see "Cars 2" and I always have to take a picture of how cool/weird we look in the 3D glasses!
We ate lunch at Panera Bread (which is a bakery and restaurant). It's one of my favorite places to eat!

Then here we are making Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread!  Its so yummy!

Here is the recipe:
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread
            Originally from Roberts Cookbook

3 ½ cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 ½ cups brown sugar
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2/3 cup water
2 cups canned pumpkin
½ bag mini chocolate chips

Mix dry ingredients; stir in sugars.  Make a well in dry ingredients and add remaining ingredients all at once; mix thoroughly until smooth.  Add chocolate chips and stir.  Pour mixture evenly into loaf pans or muffin tins.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour (loaf) or 15 minutes (muffins) or longer as needed, until the top springs back to the touch.  Enjoy!

Dustan, the little bird...

Yesterday We were at Cheery Creek Reservoir with some friends. And one of them, Titus, found a little bird in the water.
The poor little thing couldn't fly because it's wings were wet. So it was drowning! But he saved it and then Mary and I took care of it.
It was shivering so bad we thought it was going to die of shock. Like the little bunnies do.
We dried it off, named it, and tried to get it warm. And thankfully it stopped shaking!
The sweet little thing wanted to fly so bad, it kept flapping it's little wings.
But they were still wet when we had to go.
We left the care of it to Titus, and I just pray it didn't die.... God knows how much we want it to survive...He was such a darling birdie.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father."
Mathew 10:29

Emily Rhea

Right now my sister, my mom and I are enjoying the cool moutain air. My sister, Olivia, is enrolled in the Lmaplighter Guild for Creative Disaplinces and it is being held at an old restored Vistorian Castle. I have the amazing priviledge to come along and soak in the imense beauty of our Creator. This morning I got up early and read the Word cuddled up in a rocking chair overlooking the lake, with the massive moutains towering overhead...a cool breeze fluttered about me...ahh...bliss. (That was the writer in me...sorry)

However, my camera has yet to arrive, so I'm so sorry, but we may have no pictures this week!

I am taking a photograhy course this week while we're here, and I'm praying my camera arrives soon. (We shipped it ahead)

Olivia has the honor to study under Mark Hamby, John Campbell, John Fornof, Todd Bustead, and others who serve on the Lamplighter staff. I was able to listen to Mark Hamby's devotional this morning: what a blessing!

If you have no clue what I'm talking about, go to http://www.lamplighter.net/ to learn more. ha ha .

The pictures cannot give this resort justice. It is truly one of the most beautiful places I've been-EVER!

Now, after rambling for so long, on to the pictures:

Hershey's puppies are being weaned.
They are 5 weeks and 2 days.
Still little, very playful, and awful cute!!
I love this stage:)

They love their dog mash!

~ Ecclesiastes 12:1 ~

Remember now thy Creator in the
days of thy youth, while the evil days come not,
nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say,
I have no pleasure in them.

Elaine-week 6

Just as Esther previously said, we were able to visit Powell Gardens with her family yesterday. This was one of my favorite flowers. I love the variety of color and the dark spots all over.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace while you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope and the power of the Holy Spirit.

When I was studying the Bible earlier today this verse really struck me to think of THE God of Hope and TRUSTING in Him so that you can overflow.

Esther Week 6!

Elaine's family and mine got to go to a Botanical Gardens today together. I had to get a picture of both of us on the plastic horse ( even though Elaine has a real horse), but we did have a lot of fun together!

This is one of the many flower pictures I got at the gardens today. It was so beautiful!

Leave a comment and tell me what your favorite flower is?

1 Timothy 6:17
"Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy."
God, life is what You make it, not what we do alone.

My cousin Cora took this picture.
Mary, her and I all did a photo shoot at our park one afternoon.
It was lots of fun, of course:)
This is one of my favorite pictures, (and not because it's me!) just because of the randomness and the fun writing on it...That's Picnik for you...Another reason why you should use it!
Cheerio.

Elaine-Week 5

Like Esther said in her last post, my brother and I were able to travel to Nebraska with her family for the 4th of July. It was a wonderful trip and we all had a great time! In this picture: (L-R) Esther's Grandma Bev, Esther, Me and her cousin Cassie.

Now unfortunately, this wasn't taken on our trip, but I love patriotic flowers! I think it is pretty cool how many colors flowers can be, even though they aren't always natural colors...:)

This last picture was taken on our trip. My brother and Esther's brothers had so much fun being able to light off fireworks with each other! This was one of their biggest shots--my camera couldn't capture it all.

I am so thankful that I am blessed with several encouraging friends like Esther. This Bible verse doesn't have much to do with the fourth of July, but spending this holiday with Esther and her family made me truly realize how fortunate I am to have encouraging friends.

Psalm 119:36 "Those who fear the Lord are my good friends."

Esther ~Week 5~

A firework show we got to watch on the night of the 4th!
At one of my cousin's house on the 2nd of July ( L-R Elaine, Me, and my cousin Erin).
This picture I thought is really cool!  You got to click on this one to see it better!

Wow, we had such a good July 4th!  Elaine and her brother came with our family to Nebraska for my extended families get together!  We had so much fun lighting fireworks off, sitting though a 2 hour parade (even though it was hot, it was a ton of fun still),water balloon toss, and lots of funness!

..::Patricia::.. (Week Five)

Yesterday, as y'all should know, was the 4th of July! Hurray!
My family went, with a whole bunch of friends to a concert in downtown Denver.
It rained, was windy, then got bright and sunny.
Though classical concerts are not my favorite, it was still fun visiting with people, and feeling patriotic...
But I have to say, the fireworks were FANTASTIC. I love when they shoot them off during a song, it is SO fun:)
My camera died right when the fireworks were happening so no pictures of those.. What a BUMMER.
But anyway, here are two pictures that I took through some rainbow glasses they handed out.
(Which was fun)
Have a happy week!

Emily Week Five

I am so excited! My photography is taking off. A few local stores downtown have asked for a total of about 15 photos! I even sold one today. (my first sale:) Please pray for God's will to be done...I'm really excited about where it's heading though. Actually, right now, I can hear the printer printing off the pictures. (for those of you who don't know, my dad owns a print shop) I can't wait to see them framed!
This is a picture I took of our sunflowers. We had so many blooming, but this was the prettiest.
By the way, thanks to all who endured my last post with my brother! :)

"Behold, the beauty of the Lord."

P.s. As I looked at the date for today, it dawned on me: July 4th! Sorry for not being too patriotic! Have a Happy 4th of July.

We went to our friends ranch, It was beautiful!
I got to ride their cow!! It was actually an ox. (an ox is: a trained bovine.)
They teach their oxen to work as a team and pull a wagon with a yoke.
Its amazing how muscular and powerful cattle are.

~ Matthew 11:29-30 ~

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
