It's very very fall up here in WI. :) Very cold is what that means. :) Believe it or not we DO have modern technology up here (like indoor heating and paved roads) but we still use a good old fashioned wood stove to warm up the living room. (partly just cause it looks beautiful) anyway...It's only a few degrees above freezing here some mornings with average temps during the day being low to mid 40's, it seems a bit colder cause it's very moist up here (that means humid in summer and wet in winter) and with wind chill...enough weather report, on to the picture!!!
I didn't take these photos, and they're from a few years ago. My birth-mom and little sister came over for the day and we did a photo shoot (when you have as fancy a camera as she does and family you don't get to see often...why not?)
This one is one of my favorite pictures of the area around our house. Most of the leaves are gone now, but I live in a world of gold when it's like this. Our entire woods (and we have about 6 acres) is gold. :) It's breathtaking (we had a really strange golden fall this year too, it was in the 70's and 80's!!!! That's never happened before that I remember!!!)
This one is of me!!! My mom (adopted mom) made me a beautiful blue regency gown!!! (yes, I was quite cold since it was a few years ago when the golden fall days were NOT 70's and 80's) "Was that swing to small for you?" Yup. ;) Anything for a picture right? It was not the most pleasant position, but it looks good. :) (btw, that non-tree post you see beside me is one of the support beams for our two story tree house built on one of the biggest oaks I've ever seen. We have a zip-line, the swing, a climbing rope, a slide, and lots of other stuff on it too. It's pretty fun.)
I really do live in a beautiful place. :)

The golden leaves are so beautiful! I always wanted a zip-line, is it like totally awesome?!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Natalya,

Well...it's a too low for me right now. We have a friend who broke her back because she went to a friends house and her friend had some big brothers. Well, those brothers decided it would be awesome to put their zip-line 18ft high...and my friend fell...so Dad kept ours really low. Anyway, we were littler then. I was always to tall for it, but it is fun. (my back would drag on the ground if I wasn't careful, either that or my feet.) ;)
ReplyDeleteI love walking in the "golden woods" Sometimes I call it "Lothlorien" from The Lord of the Rings books because in the books (not in the movie) Lothlorien was all golden leaves. :)
Fantastic images, Natalya! Great composition in both pictures. Subject placement in #2 is great, excellent use of the rule of thirds. Great color as well in both images. Keep up the good work!
